tips from my mom's friends
Jill ScottIt takes 3 terrible nights of crying and guilt to train that baby/toddler to sleep in their own bed. Soooo worth it!!!! Put the baby in their bed (in their room). Possible shrieks. Let them occur. Every 10 minutes go in and soothe the baby/toddler. 30 seconds will do. Leave the room. Crying starts again? Let it happen. 10 FULL MINUTES. Go in and soothe for 30 seconds. This usually happens 3 times before the child passes all the way out. 3 NIGHTS TO LEARN A HABIT. Mommy needs sleep too!!!!!!! Maybe even the same amount as the baby. |

I only buy Ava the kind of candy that I like because she can't always finish it. (This is a joke!!) My favorite time with my 4 year old daughter Ava, is bath time, where we create imaginary water play games. My life is in constant motion and I travel a lot doing stand up comedy. So spending quality with just Mommie and Ava is so important to me. Its the highlight of my day!! |

I use to put items that were at my daughter's eye level when they started crawling up to about age 4. They learned that they could touch these items and not the other items in my home(on the coffee table etc) that was off limits. For example I had rubber coasters and plexiglass picture frames that they knew they could touch. This way they didn't always hear no and my home stayed in tact!
